I had moved to Iowa in 2012 to take on a new job as Director of Human Resources for agriculture company. During my time there I was introduced to a coffee made by Crimson Cup.  I loved working in the agriculture industry, but after over 20 years working in Human Resources, I decided it was time for a change. That's when I knew what the next employment venture would be...A coffee shop owner!

Shortly after leaving the agriculture employer, I was on the hunt for a building to meet me needs for a coffee shop. I looked at one in a neighboring town of Grundy Center, but felt it was too much for me to handle as a new business owner.  A friend then asked me about a building in Eldora, Iowa.  I went for a drive by, and found it to be a cute building and a good size.

I like to say that the whole experience was driven by God because the puzzle pieces just fell into place rather quickly after that.  The purchase of the building was in the works when I called the owner of the coffee shop that sold the Crimson Cup products.  She generously sat and talked to me for several hours.   Shortly after our conversation I called Crimson Cup and was on my way to Columbus, Ohio to meet with the team there.  From the time I left my job as Human Resource Director to opening the shop is was roughly 6 months.

Beside the good Lords shepherding I also have to say thank you to all my friends, customers, local businesses and my church family for supporting my dream.  I love every minute of serving coffee in Eldora.  I look forward to other opportunities to expand my business to serve my customers better!
